Firefox version 157 ships with a new, redesigned theme called Nova. If the visual changes are too radical for your taste and your so-called muscle memory does not want to accept them, follow along and I will show you how to disable the new look and quickly revert to the previous one.
Solution
- Open a new tab in Firefox and type
about:config - Search for the setting called
browser.nova.enabled - On the right-hand side, click the
Toggleicon
The new theme will be disabled immediately. Repeat the process to undo the change.
Side note ⚠️
Mozilla support moderators have warned that the browser.nova.enabled setting is expected to be removed in a future Firefox release, so this workaround may only be temporary.
